Questions re border and background colour

#1 Post by willjm »

I am pleased to have got frames working (after some initial difficulties). However when I set a background colour I get a coloured border around the frame and it's wider at the bottom than the sides and top. I've tried changing the vertical align to "middle" and altering "frame height" with no effect. How can I get a uniform coloured border?

I am also interested in creating a background border within the frame. If I try that with the Joomla editor (TinyMCE) blank spaces and lines are not coloured. It doesn't look as if I can do that with Admiror Frames, or am I wrong?

Is it possible to create different frames on different pages, and different frames on the same page?

Most of that I can't answer! lol. If you read the main thread on admiror frames Ive already said about the frame changing colour but not the background. They are looking into the options here.

With regards the bittom border - check the templates subforum - ive efited the rounded corner with quotes template to even out the border all around. I could probably do the same for the others easily enough if you would like?

Frames use a similar command template to AG - again check the main thread, so yes - you can have multiple frames of varying styles on one page.

Thanks Sam. I made a mistake in my first post. I meant to say I want to insert colour inside the frame. I've found how to do that with "colorize" - the code has to be inserted for each page; setting colorize in the Admiror edit window had no effect.

I am puzzled by other parameters, e.g. ratio; I've seen the demo page on this forum but cannot work out exactly what "ratio" is.
Also when Frame Margin and Padding are set in the Admiror editor they have no effect.

However I am happy because I have achieved what I wanted - a nice frame with coloured background inside.

I found that colorize sort of works - but that it colours the Shadow around the frame - so in effect colouring the frame itself! Ive not managed to get the background to colour at all.

Would you mind posting your AF code that you use - Ive tried to get colorize to work (in the article) and failed miserably.

And yeah, the backend config appears to have minimal effect, but I think that is in part down to Joomla templating restricting space. Padding etc do work when set in article tho.

ratio should set its width/height compared to module/area it is placed in, but havnt tried it.

OK Sam. The code I put into each article was:
{AF template=white_border width=100% colorize=FF0000} at start of content and the usual {/AF} at the end. This gives background colour red and of course the full page width.

Hope this works for you.

Yeah, see when I do {AF colorize=FF0000}###{AF}

I get the following (see image) where the border is coloured but not the background.

Right!

on a hunch I went through and tested this with each of the templates. The ONLY two where Colorize works on the background are white_border and horizontal.

All of the others (BR_cut_corner ; default ; new_tag ; round ; round_bended_corner ; round_quotes ) only change the colour of the Border shadow itself.

Frames are actually an jpeg images formed from 2 layers: background and transparent template image.

Background color controls color of background layer. Here You should enter page background color.

Colorize change transparent template image. It's a filter which uses grayscale values and colorize it.

Colorize works on global parameters settings, I just checked again.

I still fight with margins and float, and still it's needed to add some font color params.
