Pagination Not Working Category blog - Multiple Galleries

Hi - I am working in J2.5.18 and have 4 galleries per page in my category blog settings...
The main menu links to just 1 main article on the category blog view... Each gallery shows 5 thumbs and the rest of the folder paginates... The joomla is also paginating the category


If I select image 9 for example on the AG pagination of the individual gallery it goes to that page - fine
however, if I then want to go to page 5 in the Joomla pagination it just stays the same...

I am getting some huge urls...EG:
uniform.html?AG_MK=0&AG_form_paginInitPages_1=12,1,1,10&AG_form_albumInitFolders_1=uniform/118,uniform/116,uniform/115,uniform/129&AG_form_scrollTop=549&AG_form_scrollLeft=0&start=2

It seems the pagination is getting confused with the blog pagination. I have tried another template, no joy...

any advice? pointers would be greatly appreciated : )
