Admiror in component menu

Hi, I'm new to joomla. I have 1.7 installed on my mac as localhost. I have installed Admiror 4.0.1 and everything seems to be ok, I can see it in the extensions manager and have published it so there is a green tick next to Admiror Gallery Engine. However, I dodn't see Admiror in the components menu? Can you help please...

Greetings and welcome to Admiror
Currently admiror gallery for Joomla 1.7 is only in plugin phase. The devs are still workin on converting the Componant over from J1.5.
So for now, in your articles use the syntax {AG}folder-name{/AG} to display your images. You can also change the display style and popups in that first bracket area.

Thanks for the reply. I have finally got Admiror Gallery 4.0.1 to work in Joomla 1.7. It was an issue with PHP version and GD extension not enabled.
I have another question... How can I add text to the albums in my Admiror Gallery? I have a client site with many images and the detail of the products will need to be viewed when you go into the album. Hope this makes sense
