No Front End Access

#1 Post by paulhazell »

I am using version 3.0.180 and i can't see any way to add front end access. I have added a menu item, but the menu options are only image manager and layout. I have viewed the video tutorial available but i dont seem to have the same options available to me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You just need to add Image Manager to provide front end admin features. Also you need to be logged in in front end as Administrator or Editor :)

Well I must point out that you need to be logged in from the front end. If you login as Administrator to the administrator section that does not automatically grant you admin or moderator access to the front end. I had problems with this so now I always emphasize this :)

Do you have a link I could check out?

Hi,

I have created a new user profile, logged out as administrator, logged back in from the front end using the new login details i created, then go to the gallery login and i still get the same error. I will add that both the login and the gallery front end editing pages are not linked directly from the front end of the website, those links are hidden as i don't want to spoil the look of the site by having them visible. Would this make a difference?

No, that is not a problem.

Hmm, but I don't have any idea what is the problem. I tried on my installation and I had no problem.

This defines valid users for accessing Imagemanager from front end.

Code: Select all

$validUsers = Array("Super Administrator","Administrator","Manager","Publisher");
Is the site you have problems with online? Can I check to see what is going on?

Thank you, that solved it. I had restricted the access to editor level. Once i changed it to publisher it worked. Thanks again.
