I just had some hard times getting Admiror Gallery 5.0.1 ( to run on my freshly updated Joomla 3.8.6 installation.

The problem was that the settings made at "Components" -> "Admiror Gallery" -> "Control panel" (especially the "Images Root Folder") were not available for the "Image manager".

I was able to get it to work by editing the viel /administrator/components/com_admirorgallery/views/imagemanager/view.html.php

I did comment out the two lines after GET ROOT FOLDER:
        // GET ROOT FOLDER
        //$plugin = JPluginHelper::getPlugin('content', 'admirorgallery');
        //$pluginParams = new JRegistry($plugin->params);

and added the following lines right after it:
        $db = JFactory::getDBO();
        $query = "SELECT * FROM #__extensions WHERE (element = 'admirorgallery') AND (type = 'plugin')";
        $row = $db->loadAssoc();
        $pluginParams = new JRegistry($row['params']);
        $this->ag_rootFolder = $pluginParams->get('rootFolder', '/images/sampledata/');

Now, the correct folders and images are visible in the "Image manager".

FYI: the call of "JPluginHelper::getPlugin" returned an empty array. Thus the access of "$plugin->params" in the next line failed and returned a notice. I guess "$pluginParams" was then an empty instance of JRegistry.

I hope my work-around is somehow correct. If there's any official support for Joomla 3.8.x, that would also be highly appreciated. ;-)

So long,
best regards

You should check with the latest 5.2.0 version. I didn't try the exact same situation that you described but it seems that is working better in general.

I will look into this during next few days.

Help Admiror Gallery become even better,
give us a review on JED
