My Image Manager tells me the size limit for an image is Max 10 MB. However, it fails to load an image of 2066KB which I make just over 2MB. Any idea why? Is the 10MB message wrong?

No the setting is not wrong, but you should check the setting in PHP.

The 10MB you're seeing is taken from the setting of com_media (Joomla), but be aware that it's a max setting and just a pre-casution measure. The thing is that when your server has a limit then that will take priority and in most cases that will be 2MB. If php (your server) is set to upload bigger files then it will check the 10MB and 10MB will be your max then.
