When i use to many images in a folder, i get a blank page after a while.
This is probably a time out?
is there a way to keep the script from scanning all the pictures before putting them on the screen?
i suggest to scan only the number of pics that is beeing presented on the screen and then the next bunch.
this makes it faster.

You can use paging to limit a number of images shown.
But you are right, we could use some lazy-load JS script and update when the user scrolls.

Yes, it is a timeout issue :) But not displaying timeout, but thumbnail creating timeout. Probably your server it terminating the script because it takes so long.
