I am making an online portal for a non-profit non-governmental network of libraries in Honduras. They want the teenagers to have their own area on the site and they want it to have somewhat of a different style that is more appealing to their age group. However, design-wise, I don`t want to make it too different, because it needs to look like it is the same site. I think I will start with the same template as the rest of the site and just modify it a little bit, maybe adding more pictures or brighter colors but keeping the layout the same. Is it possible to have two different joomla! templates for the same site?

I don't think you are on the right forum for such kind of question :) You should try Joomla official forum.

But yes, it is possible to have more that one active templates on Joomla site.
