When i try to use a folder with a greek name example αβγδε and the images normal eng chars the album loads and appeas normally but only the eng chars folders.. the greek ones appear like ai.. i guess its an encoding issue ?!?!

It would be so great if i could use a small description under my album folders using Greek characters

tried to change files to utf8 no bom but or i missed the correct file or its just not the solution..

any possible solution ?!

thanks in advance

Let me know, and I will make the same setup and check what is the problem with Greek letters. I didn't came upon the similar problem, but on the other side I never used Greek letters before :)

Well, I have another proposal. Instead of using Greek letters to the actual folder name, you should try to add a folder caption with the text you want to display.

@fsnelis You can use Image Manager, when you enter a folder in image manager you will see "Edit Folder Captions". Then clicked, you will get an option to enter default caption and one text box for each language you have installed in Joomla! installation. Doing it this way Greek letters are displayed correctly.

@gatekeeper You are using just a plugin so you don't have a luxury of Image Manager :( But don't worry, where there is a will, there's a way ;)
You need to add XML file inside a folder you need to have caption with Greek letters. How you should format the XML you can find here: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=548&p=2100&hilit=captions#p2100

Hope this helps.

In case of file names using Greek letters, when I set "Νέος Φάκελος" as a folder name, it just disappears. It might be that my server doesn't support that specific encoding. This is the reason we added separate captions, so we don't need to depend on system settings :)

Hi
I am having the same problem with Greek letters. I am not sure what you mean by Image Manager, where is that, how do I access it?

You can access Admiror Gallery Image manager from Admiror Gallery Control panel (If you use Admiror Gallery component, of course) :)
