hello... i have a same problem... but...

Go to the Admiror Gallery Image Manager.
Click the Spanner Box below the Folder you want to rename.
Click the "Edit Folder Captions" button above the set of folders/thumbs.
In the grey box for your particular language ("English / en-GB" in my case) type the name for your folder ( eg "2 - 2012 Events")
Click the pink "Apply" button at the top right of the Image Manager.

this is done for me...

but when i run gallery (from menu link) there is only name of the folder... no caption...
what i do wrong?

thx...

p.s. joomla 2.5, gallery 4.5.0

When you hit apply, do you get a message : "Description file created: [foldername]"?

Check if there is a file: [foldername].xml in your images folder (where the folder you are trying to rename is located).

If you want to set a caption for each image, you need to open every image in Image Manager and set a caption for each one. There should also be a file [imagename].xml along with the image you set a caption for.
