There is a lot of problems cause by various reasons with permissions. This problems usually manifest with thumbnail creations, thumbnail or image details reading, various AG Component issues, etc.
AG Team today decide that permissions issues are No.1 priority which will be solved with saving thumbnails and image data into database.
Until work on database migration is done, we will prepare AG Plugin which will use thumbnails from cache, like AG Component. This will solve problem with thumbnail creation to the most of users. This wont be official release, just a dirty patch.

Date for next official release, with database migration, is unknown, depending on our free time to deal with it... but we will do our best to be as soon as possible (in next couple of weeks).

This is dirty patch for thumbs from cache. This isn't an official release, just a patch until migration on database is done.

Thanks guys for working with me on this issue. You all are the best!

How do we apply this patch? Does this replace the AG component or overwrites it?
Some guidance on installation of this please.

This is a Plugin. If You wish to try it my recommendation is this:
1. Backup current state of a website (just in case ;-) )
2. Open Extensions > Plugin Manager > Admiror Gallery Engine and write it down basic settings, like thumb width, height, template, popup, etc.
3. Open Extensions > Install/Uninstall > Plugins and remove Admiror Gallery Engine
4. Install this patch
