Is it possible to modify the agHelper.php , to generate and display only the first Image on the Folder, and keep the Light box displaying all images???

This is interesting question... lightbox needs html structure existing to have images listing... not sure about some easy modification for this. Maybe to modify one of templates to add css style display: none to all images except the first one.
My recommendation is to wait AG 3, with Albums supported.
