Hi Vasiljevski,

The influx of spammers has grown again. One "guy" I just banned then deleted Nine posts! from him.

I am unable to "Delete User" as I don't have permission to do so so your user-list in your database is no doubt growing HUGE as I can only ban them I can't delete.

Is there a way to tighten further the sign-up procedure even more than you previously did? Is captcha being used to try to eliminate spam bots?

I am still happy to ban/delete posts but the job is easier if the first line of defence captures as many idiots as possible!

Thanks.
Sam / Bifford :)

Well as a first step I updated your permissions, so now you should be able to delete the user and there should be an option to delete all his/hers post automatically, let me know if this is working when you have a chance to test. I cannot check that part.

As for the login and registering process I will check to see what can be done.
I didn't expect it would take spammers this long to find a way in :)
Looks like it is time to upgrade our security.

Most importantly, let me know if I messed up your permissions.

Everything should be the same just new option should be available, but it may also been that I missed something.

Both users now seem to be gone from the system, so I shall wait until a new idiot spammer hits.

I imagine everything permission wise will be fine, but will let you know if its not :)

Thanks :)

For some reason your sign-up system is allowing people in without an email? Either that or something is happening to lose it - when I go to ban them they have a username and IP but no email listed.

Also, the spam filter used during signup obviously is not working right - I just got rid of Qwera who flagged up with a dozen entires on his IP at stopforumspam.

Hmm, maybe that is my fault :) There are so much permission settings so I might have missed the one enabling you to have access to mails.

I haven't had time to check CAPTCHA system, as you may noticed I haven't been around on the forum in a few weeks.
But now I'm back and kicking ;)

FYI Still not seeing email addresses when going to ban someone. Username and IP only :/
